If a previous MySQL installation failed or needs to be reset, remove the existing service cautiously:
sc delete mysql
For MySQL 5.7:
Extract the archive to a path without spaces or non-ASCII characters.
Add the bin directory to your system's PATH.
Create a my.ini configuration file:
[client]
port=3306
default-character-set=utf8
